Join Our Team at Action Oriented Youth of Liberia, Inc. (AOYL)

Donating isn’t the only way you can support AOYL. We are looking for volunteers to use their skills and experience to help serve underprivileged Liberian youth through education, skills development, and community engagement.

Current Volunteer Openings:

Grant Writer

Responsibilities:

  • Create applications for funding from foundations, trusts, or governments.
  • Manage the grant application process, including a checklist of requirements, program details, and writing assistance.
  • Monitor progress against grant commitments and coordinate the collection of information needed for reporting.
  • Work with the Board and Fundraising Manager to execute fundraising strategies and ensure yearly financial goals are met.

Requirements:

  • Familiarity with fundraising databases like Foundation Directory and Donor Search.
Board Member

Responsibilities:

  • Attend quarterly board meetings.
  • Attend quarterly board meetings.
  • Provide strategic guidance and oversight.
  • Assist in fundraising efforts.
  • Promote AOYL’s mission within your network.
  • Collaborate with board members and the executive team.

Requirements:

  • Commitment to AOYL’s mission and values.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Experience in non-profit governance or youth development (preferred).
Community Outreach Coordinator

Responsibilities:

  • Connect AOYL to the community and the public.
  • Organize events and recruit volunteers.
  • Promote the mission and purpose of AOYL to the public.
  • Work alongside the Fundraising Manager and Social Media Specialist.

Requirements:

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Experience in community engagement or event planning (preferred).
Development Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, execute, and implement fundraising strategies to increase annual fundraising goals.
  • Manage mid-level donor relationships and support fundraising efforts.
  • Research and prospect donor information using database management and other donation-related software.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of fundraising principles and practice.
  • Experience in strategic engagement with prospective donors and supporters.
Educators

Responsibilities:

  • Provide educational support and mentorship to youth.
  • Develop and implement educational programs and activities.
  • Collaborate with other volunteers and staff to ensure the success of educational initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Experience in teaching or educational program development.
  • Strong commitment to youth empowerment and development.
